# WarpBuild alternatives for GitHub Actions (2026)

For WarpBuild's own cloud, Blacksmith, Namespace and Ubicloud sell the same kind of runner. For BYOC, RunsOn and SuperCI run jobs in your account with no fee per minute.

[WarpBuild](https://www.warpbuild.com) sells GitHub Actions runners two ways: on its own cloud, by the minute, or in your AWS, GCP or Azure account (BYOC), where it adds $0.002 a minute on top of your cloud's bill. These are the alternatives for each, with each one's own published prices.

## Side by side

Prices are per minute for Linux on x64 with 4 vCPUs, unless a cell says otherwise.

| Option | Jobs run on | 4 vCPU Linux x64 | Linux Arm | Plan fee | Free minutes |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| WarpBuild | WarpBuild's cloud | $0.008 | $0.006 | None | Not listed |
| WarpBuild BYOC | Your AWS, GCP or Azure account | $0.002 plus your cloud | $0.002 plus your cloud | None | Not applicable |
| Blacksmith | Blacksmith's hardware | $0.008 | $0.0025 (2 vCPU) | None | 3,000 a month |
| Depot | Depot's AWS account | $0.012 | Not listed | From $20 a month | 2,000 in the $20 plan |
| Namespace | Namespace's hardware | $0.004 to $0.006 (8 GB) | Not listed | Pay as you go, or from $100 a month | 100,000 unit minutes in the $100 plan |
| Ubicloud | Ubicloud's hardware | $0.0025 (Standard) | Not listed | None | 1,250 a month |
| RunsOn | Your AWS account | About $0.0015, AWS spot | About $0.0015 (Graviton) | €300 to €3,600 a year | Not applicable |
| SuperCI | Your AWS, Cloudflare or Modal account | About $0.0014, AWS spot | About $0.0014, AWS spot | None (MIT) | Not applicable |
| GitHub larger runners | GitHub's machines | $0.012 | $0.008 | Team or Enterprise plan | None |

## Which alternative fits

**Instead of WarpBuild's own cloud.** Blacksmith matches WarpBuild's $0.008 for 4 vCPUs and adds 3,000 free minutes a month; Namespace lists $0.004 to $0.006; Ubicloud lists $0.0025. All three run jobs on their own hardware, as WarpBuild does on its cloud.

**Instead of WarpBuild BYOC.** The point of BYOC is that jobs run in your account at your cloud's price. RunsOn and SuperCI do the same on AWS without a per-minute fee: RunsOn charges a yearly licence, SuperCI nothing. At 100,000 minutes a month, WarpBuild's $0.002 a minute comes to $200 a month on top of the machines; RunsOn's licence is €25 to €300 a month by plan, and SuperCI is open source under MIT. WarpBuild BYOC also covers GCP and Azure, which RunsOn and SuperCI do not; SuperCI covers Cloudflare and Modal instead.

**GitLab CI too.** SuperCI runs GitLab CI jobs on the same machines. The others here are for GitHub Actions.

## Questions

### What does WarpBuild BYOC cost?

$0.002 a minute for Linux and Windows runners, on top of what your cloud charges for the machines. WarpBuild lists its cache and snapshots as free on BYOC.

### Is there a free alternative to WarpBuild BYOC?

SuperCI is open source under the MIT licence and charges nothing; you pay your cloud for the machines. Actions Runner Controller is free too, if you already run a Kubernetes cluster. RunsOn is free for open source, non-profits and non-commercial use.

### Which is cheaper per minute than WarpBuild's own cloud?

For 4 vCPUs on Linux: Namespace ($0.004 to $0.006), Ubicloud ($0.0025), and spot machines in your own account with RunsOn or SuperCI (about $0.0015). Blacksmith charges the same $0.008 with free minutes.
